Montco Updates Guidance On Mass Gatherings, Capacity Limits

The county is following recommendations from the state on capacity limits, as well as indoor and outdoor gatherings.

NORRISTOWN, PA — Montgomery County has followed the lead of the state in updating its guidance on mass gatherings and capacity limits in settings both indoors and outdoors.

Indoor events and gatherings can now be held at 15 percent of maximum occupancy, while outdoor gatherings are limited to 20 percent.

Mass gatherings are defined as any grouping of 25 people or more inside, and any grouping of 250 or more outdoors, according to the Montgomery County Office of Public Health.

The maximum occupancy limit includes staff, according to the state's revised order.

The county also issued a reminder to the public that all mass gatherings must apply for a permit from the Office of Public Health, and submit a COVID-19 mitigation plan, at least 45 days before an event is scheduled.
