Montco Vaccine Clinic Offering Free Admission To Elmwood Zoo

The Montgomery County vaccination clinic will offer participants free zoo admission (and a visit with the Phillie Phanatic!) as a reward.

NORRISTOWN, PA — An upcoming COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Montgomery County will offer participants free admission to the zoo as a reward for getting their shot.

The event will take place on Monday, June 21 at the zoo's Canopy Gardens Hall. It's being organized through a partnership between the zoo, Giant supermarket, and the Montgomery County Immunization Coalition.

The Phillie Phanatic will also be on hand at the event, to spread baseball cheer and boost vaccine morale. To further sweeten the deal, attendees will also be entered to win raffle items, tickets to Hershey Park, gift cards to Giant, a yearly membership to Elmwood Zoo, and more.

It's the latest effort by health officials and pharmacies in Montgomery County to vaccinate the remaining swaths of the local population against the virus. The pandemic is on the wane in the county, with the countywide percent positivity rate on tests plummeting all the way down to 1.9 percent this week. Leaders are still pushing to get 70 percent of the state's population fully vaccinated by the end of June.

Both Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson doses will be administered, and anyone 12 and older is eligible. Pre-registration is required online here.
