The Montgomery County Health Department will execute the spraying in areas that have been identified to have high mosquito populations.

Spraying will occur on Wednesday, August 31 from 8:15 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and will also take place in Plymouth Township.

The alternate date will be Tuesday, September 7.

The equipment dispenses Duet Dual-Action Adulticide at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre.

Officials said that the chemicals have a "very low" toxicity profile to mammals, and will have "negligible" impact to non-target insects and the environment.

Officials hope the spraying reduces the transmission of West Nile Virus, which is frequently carried by mosquitoes.
