Organizers had the following to say about the show:
"The National Dog Show competition is one of only three "benched" shows remaining in the United States. "Benched" format means that the show is open to the public and the dogs are on display all day long so that attendees of all ages can see and learn about the various breeds. Their displays are often decorated and themed according to their country of origin. The weekend also includes high-action feats from canine performance teams featured at various times throughout Saturday and Sunday."
