New Brewery With Historic Roots Coming To Montco
Norristown's revitalization continues, as it will get its own craft brewery this spring.
NORRISTOWN, PA — Good news for beer fans in the area: Norristown is getting itself a new brewery.
Von C Brewing Co. will be located on 1210 Stanbridge Street, with easy access to nearby Elmwood Park and Norristown Farm Park.
The new establishment comes from a long lineage of brewers: they're a part of the same family that launched C. Schmidt & Son brewing back in 1860.

"Brewing great beer in Philadelphia is in our blood," the brewery's website notes. "At one point in time, two out of three drafts that were poured in Philadelphia were Schmidt’s beer."
While a number of craft beer establishments have opened their doors in neighboring places like King of Prussia, Conshohocken, Audubon, and Bridgeport, Norristown proper is now getting in the game too.

Construction progress on the new taproom is accelerating quickly, with equipment already set up and the floors recently repainted.
Von C says they're targeting an opening at some point this spring, either in April or May.
The new brewery will join the popular Five Saints Distilling as part of an emerging and rapidly growing local spirits and beer economy.
