NORRISTOWN, PA — July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festitivies are going on near you this Independence Day.
We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Norristown so you can start planning now.

The festivities get kicked off with the 4th of July parade at 9:45 a.m. The route is the same as it was for 2018, starting at St. Francis on Marshall Street and ending on Main Street. It will take about 45 minutes to walk the parade route. Here's a map, courtesy of the municipality:

From there, the block party on Main Street will get going at 10:30 a.m. with food, drinks, games, entertainment, family activities, and more. Main will be shut down from DeKalb to Arch Street. That will go on until 2 p.m.

The party moves to Elmwood Park at 3 p.m., where live bands will perform a concert in the band shell until 9 p.m.
The fireworks show is scheduled to cap the day's celebrations at dusk, around 9 p.m.
