Norristown Man, Former Borough Employee, Passes At 59

NORRISTOWN, PA — Joseph A Giaimo, 59, of Norristown died on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Suburban Community Hospital, E Norriton, PA. Born March 23, 1958 in Norristown, PA he was the son of the late Mary (Hertzog) and Edward R. Long, Sr. and husband of Catherine (Fox) Giaimo.

Mr. Giaimo had worked as a laborer for the Boro of Norristown and recently was employed by Whitpain Twp. but recently was out on disability for various health reasons. He also had a window cleaning business in the local Norristown area known as Joe Pa's. He was a morning regular at Lou's Steak Shop on E. Main St., Ntn. He was a peacetime veteran of the Marine Corp, and member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Bridgeport. He was an avid Eagles, Notre Dame and Phillies fan, and his biggest loves were his wife, family and friends.

Survivors include siblings: Michael (Valerie) Long, Edward R. Long, Jr., Donna Harvey, and Sandy (Earl) Metzger, and many nieces and nephews

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
