Norristown Police to Hold Bicycle Rodeo and BMX Stunt Show

The Norristown Police Department will host the community event June 1 to promote Safe Biking.

On June 1, the Norristown Police Department will hold and event that is both exciting and promotes safety with its Police Bicycle Rodeo and BMX Stunt Show.

The event, which focuses on youth ages 13 and under, will take place from noon to 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church Parking Lot, located at 801 W. Marshall St. in Norristown.

The Bicycle Rodeo and BMX Stunt Show is free of charge to all Norristown residents, ages 13 and under, and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Youth must bring their own bicycle and protective gear, and the police department will provide helmets (in limited quantities) for youth who don’t already have one.

According to the Rotary Club of Norristown website, who is a co-sponsor of the event, participants can meet at the parking lot outside the church to participate with bike courses, helmet and bike fittings and bike safety information.

The stunt show will be provided by Perfection on Wheels.

Perfection on Wheels, according to the organization’s website, is a national BMX stunt organization, whose focus is to provide a thrilling, exciting, and educational show, and deals with such subjects as Anti-Bullying, Character Building, Drug and Alcohol Awareness.

The event is sponsored by the Montgomery County Health Department, Norristown Police Department, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, Moss Hospital and Rotary Club of Norristown.
