OBITUARY: Norristown Woman, 95, Devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother

NORRISTOWN, PA — Jennie (Venezia) Cagliola, 95, of Norris Town died peacefully surrounded by her family after a brief illness on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Einstein Hospital Montgomery, E Norris Town, PA. Born January 5, 1922 in Norris Town, PA, she was the daughter of the late Accursia 'Mary' (Licata) and Antonio Venezia, and wife of the late Felix N. Cagliola, who died in 1984.

Jennie was a member of Holy Saviour Church and the Holy Saviour Sr. Citizens group. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and told stories to her grandchildren of when she was a child, picking blueberries with her family in New Jersey. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family and annually donating afghans thru the senior group to retired service men and women. She enjoyed baking and cooking and taking care of her family. A homemaker for the majority of her life, she also worked as an assembler for the former Lee Tires and sewed for the former Lees Mills. After her husband died, she then worked at a watch factory and then Streamlight, retiring at age 76. She enjoyed the casinos and card playing for over 35 years with her group of friends.

Survivors include two children: Rachel (Donald, Sr.) Zajick, Joseph Cagliola, 5 grandchildren: Karen (Jennifer Weeks)Zajick, Patricia (Daniel) Zajick Metzler, Donald (Christine) Zajick, Jr., MD, Lauren (Josh) Cagliola Green, Ashley (Michael) Cagliola Averill; 8 great grandchildren: Alexis, Zachary, Allison, Maci, Grace, Carter, Lucy and Peyton; siblings: Mary Trecroce, Frances (Joseph) Guarinello, Anna `(Tony) Cianciulli, Harry (Erminia) Venezia and Samuel Venezia.

Along with her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by siblings Lillian Giamo, Charles Venezia and Joseph Venezia.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Caramenico FH Inc., Main & Walnut Sts., Ntn., PA on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, from 6:30 8:30 pm & Thursday, July 13, 2017, from 8:30 9:30 am. Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Saviour Church, 407 E Main St. Ntn., PA at 10 am. Entombment St. Patrick's Cemetery Mausoleum, 2400 DeKalb Pike, East Norriton, PA 19401.
