Pa. Slot Machines See a Slump
The State Gaming Commission has cited out-of-state competition as a reason for the decline.

Revenue from state slot machines fell slightly in 2013, according to new figures released last week.
Slot machine revenue fell 3.5 percent, from $2.47 billion to $2.38 billion, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.Â

A spokesman for the State Gaming Commission cited out-of-state casino competition among the reasons for the decline, noting that casinos recently opened in Ohio and Maryland.
Despite the decline, slot machines in Pennsylvania still generated $1.3 billion in taxes for the state, the Inquirer said.

Pennsylvania is the No. 2 slots revenue generator in the country, second only to Nevada.
