Armed Robbery Probed at West Norriton Exxon
Two armed men held up the Exxon gas station at West Main and Forrest Avenue on Saturday night.

Neighbors in area of West Main Street and Forrest Avenue were alarmed Saturday night by the sight of multiple police cars responding to the Exxon Service Station. Officers were observed taping off the scene and reportedly remained at the location for some time.
According to a report from the West Norriton Police Department, officers responded to the scene at 1401 West Main Street at approximately 8:44 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. On the scene, an employee of the station told police that two men entered the store and instructed him not to move. The men then ordered him to open the register. One of the men allegedly held him at gunpoint while the other came behind the counter and removed approximately $200 in cash. The two men then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Norristown.
Norristown Police were requested to assist and Plymouth Police were contacted for a K-9 officer. Officers secured the scene and reviewed the video surveillance of the robbery. A search for the suspects by a K-9 officer was unsuccessful.

The two men were both described as black males in their early 20s, approximately 5'9" tall, with thin builds, wearing all black clothing and black ski masks. One of the men was allegedly armed with a revolver with a long barrel.Â
A detective with the West Norriton Police Department noted that a similar armed robbery, allegedly perpetrated by two men with similar descriptions, occurred at roughly the same time on .
