Alleged Produce Junction Burglar Arrested

Norristown Police have arrested 22-year-old Durrell Yarbough, of Norristown, in connection with the April 9 burglary of El Primo Produce Junction in Norristown. According to Detective Lt. Michael Crescitelli, Yarbough was identified by a Montgomery County Probation Officer who viewed the security video from the crime posted on Norristown Patch and notified local authorities.

Police searched Yarbough’s residence and reportedly located incriminating evidence linking him to the El Primo Produce Junction burglary on Monday, April 9 and a second burglary that police say occurred at Vico’s Auto Body shop on Sunday, April 8. Yarbough is being charged with both burglaries.

On April 9, officers responded to El Primo Produce Junction at approximately 5:28 a.m. and met with the manager, who told them when he arrived that morning he found the glass door at the front of the door smashed and called 911.

Police investigating the scene found a rock inside the store that they believe was used to break the glass and discovered two cash registers smashed open on the floor. 

The owner of the store arrived and told police that cash was missing from the two registers and the damage to the front door could be as much as $1200. He provided police with security camera footage showing the suspect breaking the glass and entering the business. Patch posted the video the next day which lead to Yarbough's arrest.

According to police, Yarbough pleaded guilty to burglary in another case in 2009.
