Scene Around Town – 'At the Sock Hop' with the ACPPA Community Art Center

The ACPPA Community Art Center held its annual spring fundraiser on Saturday, April 27. This year's theme, "At the Sock Hop," featured a live rockabilly band, dancing, diner-themed fare, a costume competition and plenty of fun for everyone.

The ACPPA also honored John Doyle, Norristown Area High School teacher and Iron Age Theatre artistic director, with its 2013 Luminary Award for his tireless work in bring the light of the arts to Norristown residents.

The event raised over $10,000 to enable the ACPPA to continue its mission to use art as a tool to strengthen individual power and nurture creative self expression for all Norristown residents, children and adults alike.
