Screech owl on the mend at Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center
Screech owl recuperating after being hit by a car

This screech owl was brought to the Philadelphia Metro Wildlife Center in King of Prussia after being hit by a car. Blood in his throat left him in danger of aspirating blood into his lungs. We were able to stabilize him, suction the blood from his throat, and treat him for blunt impact trauma. He has progressed to being able to swallow bits of food when hand-fed and we hope he will be able to feed himself soon.
