Second Phase of Turnpike Project in Norristown Begins with Groundbreaking Ceremony

The completed project will connect Norristown with the Pennsylvania Turnpike

The second phase of a three part project to connect Norristown to the Pennsylvania Turnpike began this week according to CBS Philly.

The reports says a ceremonial groundbreaking was held on the roughly $13 million phase, which extends Lafayette Street, and widens Ridge Pike from the border of Norristown to the Turnpike. The project reportedly will also reduce congestion at Conshohocken Road.

According to the report, the completed project is expected to cost $85 million, 85-percent of which is funded by the federal government.
