Sixers Guard Seth Curry Tests Positive For Coronavirus: Reports

PHILADELPHIA, PA — While the NBA has seen success this year and last in avoiding COVID-19 issues, the virus remains a threat. Sixers guard Seth Curry has tested positive, according to multiple reports from around the league, including ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Curry's positive test, which came at the start of the Sixers game in New York on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets, marks the first case of coronavirus among the team this season.
Curry was sitting next to Joel Embiid on the bench when he found out the news, and Embiid will quarantine himself from the team and his family until he gets his own test results back, reports state.

Curry isolated himself immediately and did not travel with the team after the game, according to ESPN.
The NBA was largely able to avoid the impacts of the virus, especially when compared with the widespread positives that rocked parts of both the MLB and NFL seasons last year, though Curry's test in a reminder that even with strict protocols in place, the league is not immune.

Curry has been a key fixture of the revamped Sixers lineup this year, starting at shooting guard next to Ben Simmons and seamlessly complementing the new lineup. His outside shooting presence is a threat the team has missed since they lost J.J. Redick. Curry has averaged 17 points this year, helping the Sixers to an NBA-best 7-2 record.
