Three Charged in Pottstown Abduction and Murder

The victim, 19-year-old Kareem Borowy, had been arrested in Upper Merion in March on drug charges.

Three men have been charged with first, second and third degree murder as well as a laundry list of other charges in the May 4 abduction and murder of 19-year-old Kareem Borowy. 

Rasheed Teel and Andre Collier of Philadelphia and Charles Freeman of Stowe were charged with first, second, and third degree murder; conspiracy to commit first, second and third degree murder; multiple charges of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping; weapon possession; terroristic threats; false imprisonment; tampering with evidence; receiving stolen property and robbery charges.

Investigation by West Pottsgrove, Lower Pottsgrove police and county detectives "has revealed that Charles Freeman drove his three conspirators to the victim’s residence. Andre Collier, Rasheed Teel as well as an unidentified male are the individuals that invaded the residence and abducted Borowy. Freeman then drove his co-conspirators and the victim from the residence," DA Risa Ferman said in a statement.

Borowy was discovered by a passing motorist lying along Sanatoga Station Road the afternoon of May 4 after he had been abducted. An autopsy showed that Borowy had been shot.

Prior to his death, Borowy was free pending a hearing on drug-related charges stemming from an arrest in Upper Merion.

Teel was already in custody on charges that he allegedly lied to investigators when they interviewed him about Borowy's death. 

Freeman was arrested Monday.

Collier "should be considered armed and dangerous," Ferman said. "[He] is aware he is wanted and has evaded arrest."
