Allegheny County Police Arrest Greene Man for Soliciting Sex From Teen

Allegheny County Police have arrested and charged Joseph R. Thomas, 41, of Greene County, with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, statutory sexual assault, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, endangering the welfare of a minor, corruption of minors , prohibited acts, and selling or furnishing liquor to a minor. The victim in this case is a 14-year old male.

This case initially began on October 25, 2014, when the Elizabeth Township Police Department , requested investigative assistance with a child sexual assault where an adult male actor requested a meeting with the 14 year old boy, in order to have a sexual encounter, in exchange for marijuana and alcohol. The meeting was communicated through Facebook, Facebook Messenger, and cellular telephone calls. This meeting took place at Round Hill Park. The 14 year old also stated that he met with Thomas approximately six times within a 3 to 4 week period.

Joseph R. Thomas is a white male, 41 years of age, 5’8” tall, with short cropped brown hair and balding in the center. Thomas is missing some front teeth, and has tattoos on both forearms. Thomas was driving a black 2008 Chevrolet Impala that has had both Ohio and Pennsylvania license plates. He used the alias of Austin Thompson on his Facebook page and he appears to be friends on this site with numerous underage boys. Joseph R. Thomas has also used the alias, Jay Thompson. The Allegheny County Police are also aware of at least 2 other cases, currently under investigation, where Joseph Thomas may be a suspect.
