Pittsburgh Man Arrested While Showering In Stranger's Apartment

Michael Stefcik allegedly broke into the Bethel Park apartment after crashing his car in nearby Upper St. Clair.

BETHEL PARK, PA — A man who crashed his car in Upper St. Clair was arrested several hours later after after police responded to a call that he was taking a shower in a stranger's apartment.

When police confronted Michael Stefcik, 36, at around 5 a.m. Wednesday, he assaulted several officers while being taken into custody, police said.

According to police, the car accident occurred around 2 a.m. He allegedly entered several unlocked vehicles before entering the apartment building, where he tried to enter more than a dozen units before finding the one in which he showered.

Stefcik was charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass and resisting arrest. Additional charges could be filed, police said.
