Freezing Rain Expected During Friday Morning Commute

The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Pittsburgh area Friday morning.

Expect freezing rain and ice accumulations of about a tenth of an inch on Friday.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for Upper St. Clair that is in effect from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

The freezing rain is expected to begin between 6 and 8 a.m. and end between 1 and 3 p.m.

The National Weather Service warns of hazardous travel conditions because of ice-covered roads.
