If the Fourth of July crowds aren't for you, try a more peaceful holiday activity for free—fishing.
Thursday, July 4, is one of two "Fish-for-Free" days designated by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. The other was on Memorial Day.
Under the program, anyone can legally fish in the state waterways without a fishing license. All other fishing rules and regulations apply.
