Scandal-Plagued Former U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy Lands New Job
The ex-congressman is going to work for a political consulting firm.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Former U.S. Rep. Tim Murphy, who resigned last year amid revelations of an extramarital affair and complaints from staffers that he was abusive, has found a new job.
Murphy has been hired as a federal consultant by Pittsburgh-based Cranmer Consultants, Roll Call reported. The company is headed by Bob Cranmer, a former Allegheny County Commissioner.
Murphy stepped down in October after reports the staunch abortion opponent had suggested his mistress get an abortion amid a pregnancy scare. His resignation also came amid accusations from employees that he was verbally abusive toward them.

The Republican Murphy, 65, of Upper St. Clair, had represented the 18th Congressional District since 2003. He was succeeded by Democrat Conor Lamb, who won a special election in March.
Because of the court-ordered redistricting of Pennsylvania’s congressional districts, Lamb is now running for a full term in the 17th District.
