South Hills Village Getting Multimillion-Dollar Makeover
The major redevelopment rivals one also planned for Ross Park Mall in the North Hills.

Ross Park Mall isn’t the only Pittsburgh retail center getting a significant makeover. South Hills Village also is in line for a massive redevelopment.
Bethel Park’s planning and zoning commission on Wednesday approved preliminary renovation plans by Simon Properties, which owns the mall. KDKA-TV reported those plans include a repurposing of the vacant Sears space, the addition of additional retailers, a new fitness facility and a redesigned food court.
If Bethel Park council approves the plans, South Hills Village construction could start this fall and be completed by 2021, according to KDKA.
