South Hills Village Teavana Store Closing
All 370 of the Starbucks-owned tea chain's stores are shutting down.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Starbucks is shuttering all of its 370 Teavana stores nationwide, including three in the Pittsburgh area at Ross Park Mall, South Hills Village and Monroeville Mall. All Teavana stores will close by next spring.
The move comes nearly five years after Starbucks spent $620 million to buy the chain, which sells loose teas. Starbucks will continue to see Teavana products in its coffee shops. Starbucks also will continue to distribute Teavana drinks in grocery stores.
"The company concluded that despite efforts to reverse the (underperforming) trend through creative merchandising and new store designs, the underperformance was likely to continue," Starbucks said in a press release.
The move will leave 3,300 Teavana employees without a job, but they are being invited to apply for work at Starbucks locations.
