State Rep. John Maher Charged With DUI

The incident occurred last month near Harrisburg.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Republican state Rep. John Maher is facing four charges after being cited for driving under the influence near Harrisburg last month.

In the June 13 incident in Cumberland County, Maher’s blood-alcohol level was at least 0.16, which is twice the legal limit, PennLive reported.

He also was charged with making an unsafe U-turn and driving the wrong way.

Maher, 58, of Upper St. Clair, was pulled over on a capitol session day. It’s not known if he was pulled over immediately after the session or later.

Maher has served in the House since 1997. His district includes parts of Allegheny and Washington counties, including Upper St. Clair and Peters Township.
