Summer Kid Activities Abound In Upper St. Clair

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - With the school year rapidly winding down, you might be on the verge of panic wondering how you’re going to keep your children occupied and out of trouble until school resumes. Take a deep breath. Patch has you covered.
There are a variety of school and library-related camps around the township to fit your time frame and family budget. Here are just a few:
- Elementary School Camps
Summer camps at Eisenhower and Streams elementary schools are open to all students entering K through 7th grade. Camp runs from June 13 through August 22 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parents can choose the days they would like to participate. Camp includes swimming, field trips, sports, STEAM activities, cooking, arts and crafts, and a fun reading and math review for each grade level! Register online at www.ExtendedDay.com.

- Middle School Camp
Summer camp at Boyce Middle School is open to all students entering 4th through 7 grade. Camp runs from June 13 through August 22 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parents can choose the days they would like to participate. Camp includes swimming, field trips, sports, STEAM activities, cooking, arts and crafts, and a fun reading and math review for each grade level! Register online at www.ExtendedDay.com.
- Upper St. Clair Library Activities
Summer Teen Read is open to tweens and teens who are going into grades 6-12. Teen Read is a way to read for fun and get rewarded over the summer months.
Here’s how to participate:
1. Sign up at the Library and pick out library books to read.
2. Fill out a short book questionnaire for every book you read.
3. Return your completed book questionnaires to the library.
4. Pick up a Summer Reading Grand Prize Drawing raffle ticket.
Registration begins June 6.
The library has several other programs and events planned throughout the summer including Shakespeare in the Summer, Kindness Rocks, Oh Sit! Extreme Musical Chairs, Open Mic Night, Escape the Library!, and The Roadmap to College.

- Upper St. Clair High School Girls Soccer Team Camp
The camp is organized by USC Girls Soccer Boosters, the USCHS Girls Soccer team, and Head Coach Dave Gray and includes individual skill challenges, technical training and demonstration, individual and small-sided games and games every day.
WHEN: July 23–26, 6–7:30 p.m.
WHERE: Boyce Turf Field
WHO: Boys and Girls Grades Pre-K through 6th grade, all skill levels
COST: $50 per player; $90 for two siblings and $30 for each additional child (includes T-shirt)
TO REGISTER: visit www.uscgsoccer.org and click on “USC Summer Youth Camp Registration” to register and pay online or complete and return the registration form with payment.
- Upper St. Clair Middle School Volleyball Camp
Learn to pass, set, spike and how to play the game at a high level.
Where: Upper St. Clair High School Main Gymnasium
When: July 9-13
Time: 5 p.m.-8 p.m.
Who: Students entering 5th through 9th grade
Cost: $120 per camper

- Upper St. Clair Football Youth Skills Camp
Walkups will be accepted but are not guaranteed a T-shirt
WHO: All athletes in grades 1-8. No prior experience needed.
WHERE: Upper St. Clair High School stadium
WHEN: July 31 - Aug. 2, 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
STAFF: USC head coach Jim Render, the varsity coaching staff, and several varsity players
FEE: $75 includes camp instruction and t-shirt. Payment and form due by July 20.
