`The Summer King' Tops 5 Things To Do Around Upper St. Clair This Weekend
PGH Photo Fair, Rob Schneider comedy, Women's Show and Expo and Brewers Olympics also occurring.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Here’s something you don’t see in western Pennsylvania every weekend: A world premiere by the Pittsburgh Opera. In fact, the local opera hasn’t staged a world premiere in its distinguished 78-year history.
That will change on Saturday when the opera debuts “The Summer King.”
The opera tells the story of Josh Gibson. A baseball legend, Gibson rose from the sandlots of Pittsburgh’s North Side to the pinnacle of greatness in the Negro Leagues to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The opera premieres April 29 at 8 p.m. at the Benedum Center. Tickets for “The Summer King” start at $22.25.
- Rob Schneider, Pittsburgh Improv, Waterfront, April 29 at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
The “Saturday Night Live” alumnus and star of such movies as “Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo,” The Hot Chick, The Benchwarmers, and Grown Ups. will perform two comedy shows at the nightclub. Rob Schneider tickets are $27 for each performance.

- PGH Photo Fair, Carnegie Museum of Art, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; April 30 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Pittsburgh’s first and only art fair promoting photography within the contemporary and fine-art market returns for another year.
- PGH Photo Fair hosts 13 internationally known dealers and photography projects.These experts exhibit museum-quality prints and photo-based art spanning the history of the medium, from 19th Century vintage prints to contemporary photography, alongside photographic books and photo-based magazines.
The event requires a museum admission purchase.
- Brewers Olympics, Grist House Brewery, Millvale, April 30 at 2 p.m.
Cheer on your favorite local breweries as they compete in feats of strength, agility and knowledge in Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week’s closing event. The $20 Brewers Olympics ticket provides entry and a T-shirt, with proceeds benefiting the Millvale Community Library.
