Thanksgiving 2017: What's Open, Closed In The USC Area

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - It’s nearly time to sit down with friends and family and enjoy a tasty Thanksgiving feast, football and post-meal food coma. While some people do have to work on the holiday, particularly those employed by stores jumping the gun on Black Friday, government offices, most businesses and many retailers will be closed.

Here’s your guide to the closures:

• Schools: Upper St. Clair schools have a half-day Wednesday and are closed Thanksgiving and Friday. and Monday.

• Government: All township, Allegheny County, state and federal officers are closed. State offices and courts and city offices also will be closed Friday.

• Banks: Closed

• State liquor stores: Closed.

• U.S. Postal Service: Post offices will be closed and there will be no mail delivery.

• Port Authority of Allegheny County: Bus, light-rail and incline service will operate on their respective holiday schedules.

• Upper St. Clair Library: Closed.

• Malls: Monroeville Mall, South Hills Village: Closed, although some department stores, movie theaters, restaurants, and retailers with exterior mall entrances could be open.
