Upper St. Clair Avoids Property Tax Hike
Even with devastating flash flooding this summer, the township won't have to raise millage rates.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - For the 10th consecutive year, Upper St. Clair has managed to hold the line on property taxes. Commissioners on Monday unanimously approved the township’s 2019 budget that will keep real estate taxes at 3.83 mills and the earned income tax rate at 0.80 percent.
There was no tax increase despite the fact that severe flash flooding in June caused considerable damage around the township.
“The Township’s response to this disaster was made possible in part by many years of sound, responsible financial management, “ township Manager Matthew Serakowski said in a statement.
“The 2019 budget again reflects the Township’s continued commitment to long-term financial planning which positions us so that the next time we are faced with unanticipated expenses like those resulting from the flash flooding, we can once again respond without hesitation and without disrupting or reducing the quality of services that Township residents expect.”
