Upper St. Clair Replacing Street Signs

The $75,000 project won't be completed until 2018.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - A sign of the times in the township is the installation of new street signs. The township public works department has begun replacing the existing signs with newly designed ones that are larger, whose letters have larger fonts and which have a reflective material to make them easier to see at night.

Crews have begun installing the signs in the north end of the township in the first and second wards and will work south toward the fifth ward. The sign replacements aren’t expected to be completed until next year.

Some street sign poles might need to be replaced or relocated during the project, township officials said. In those areas, utility locations will be marked with paint and/or flags so new pole locations can be safely bored. Township officials said any questions regarding the project should be directed to the public works department, which can be reached at 412-831-9000, extension 217 or 271.
