USC Bakery To Introduce New Pumpkin Items For 31 Straight Days
The Pie Place is ushering in autumn with an assortment of pumpkin flavored products.

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - As summer transforms into autumn, pumpkin-flavored food and drinks abound but The Pie Place is taking things to the extreme. The owners of the Upper St. Clair bakery, Jess Gombar and Julie Accamando, will introduce a new pumpkin product for 31 straight days beginning Sept. 23 - the first day of fall.
The bakery will feature classic pumpkin selections like pie, cheesecake, brownies, cookies, and muffins. They will also offer pumpkin variations on less common desserts like scones, cream puffs, gobs, bread pudding, slab pie, Bundt cake, cake pops, and truffles.
“As it gets closer to the holidays, we get unbelievably busy, so before things get too crazy we want to have some fun and give our customers the biggest variety of pumpkin treats in the city,” Gombar said.

The Pie Place works closely with local partners who are also providing their pumpkin products to the bakery. This includes Washington-based 19 Coffee Company, Mt. Lebanon’s Betsy’s Ice Cream, and Aunt Anna’s Biscotti from Greensburg.
“Thanks to our local suppliers we’ll be adding pumpkin coffee, lattés, milkshakes, ice cream, and biscotti to our menu,” Accamando said. “When we first sat down with our team we thought it would be difficult to create 31 distinct and palatable pumpkin choices, but you’ll be surprised how many delicious dishes we’re debuting during the next month.”
