USC Commencement Ceremony To Have Different Look This Year

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA — The 2021 Upper St. Clair High School Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies are set for June 9. Baccalaureate, for graduating seniors only, will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the gym. The commencement ceremony will follow starting at 7 p.m. in the stadium.

Commencement will be live streamed for those unable to attend in-person. Friends and family can access the broadcast at uscsd.tv or on YouTube.

In the event of inclement weather, commencement will be delayed to June 10, or, if needed, June 11. Due to health and safety guidelines, the event will not be moved indoors. A determination will be made by 5 p.m. and communicated via the district’s website, automated calls to senior families and social media.

To allow for greater physical distancing for those attending graduation, the ceremony will be set up differently than in previous years. The stage will be located near the end zone closest to the school. Members of the Class of 2021 will know their seating locations following graduation practice on June 7.

To offer ample seating and opportunity for social distancing, both the home and visitor bleachers will be used for spectator seating. All spectators must be seated within the bleacher areas. Field level seating or standing will not be available.

Handicapped parking and seating are available for both the home and visitors’ bleachers. Vehicles must have a handicap placard to park in these designated areas.

• For the visitors-side, handicapped parking will be available in the lot adjacent to the stadium’s end zone. The lot is only accessible via the Truxton Road delivery/service entrance.
• For the home-side bleachers, handicapped parking is available adjacent to the main ticket booth and designated seating is available at the top of the bleachers.

Complimentary shuttle bus service will run from the parking lots at Upper St. Clair Township building, public works building (bottom of Truxton Drive) and Westminster Presbyterian Church (the lot adjacent to the high school property) beginning at 5 p.m.
