UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Traffic conditions should improve around Upper St. Clair High School and St. Louise De Marillac Catholic School, with more than $400,000 in signal upgrades planned near the two schools.
Gov. Tom Wolf announced on Thursday that 94 municipalities will receive $33 million to support the costs of improving traffic signals under PennDOT’s “Green Light-Go” project. Upper St. Clair will receive $461,289 for signal upgrades along McMurray Road at Johnston Road near St. Louise De Marillac, and along McLaughlin Run Road at the Route 19 southbound ramps near the high school.
The money can be spent to install light-emitting diode technology on existing signals, perform regional operations such as retiming, developing special event plans and monitoring signals, as well as upgrading signals to other new technologies.
