Washington Road Improvement Project Could Cause Traffic Woes

UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA - Prepare for some traffic headaches. PennDOT will begin a $5.5 million improvement project along 2.5 miles of Washington Road on June 10.
Milling and resurfacing will occur between Washington County and McMurray Road. The project includes concrete patching, shoulder repairs, base repairs, drainage and guide rail upgrades, ADA curb ramp improvements, signal updates, and sign and pavement marking installation.
Single-lane restrictions in each direction will occur weeknights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday night and continuing through late October. Additionally, weekend work requiring lane closures in each direction will occur from Friday at 7 p.m. continually through 6 a.m. Monday morning. Ten-foot wide lanes will be maintained during construction work.
