BURRILLVILLE, RI — The Nasonville Fire District is auctioning off a used 2012 Navistar/PL Custom Type 1 Ambulance, and they are marketing it to “creative visionaries” as “the ultimate camper” for summer road trips.

“With summer travel in full swing, Rhode Island residents are now in the market for road trip vehicles,” the auction house said in a news release. “Creative visionaries are now refurbishing vehicles like ambulances that are no longer being used and repurposing them by giving them a completely new look and life.”

The winning bidder can customize the ambulance to their heart’s desire by adding a kitchen area, sleeping area, TV, a meditation space, and more, a spokesperson for Municibid said.
