Update: Central Falls Police Cruiser Involved In Lincoln Crash

CENTRAL FALLS, RI — A Central Falls police cruiser was involved in a serious motor vehicle crash in Lincoln late Sunday night, but few details have been released to the public.

Central Falls Police Chief Col. Anthony Roberson released a statement Tuesday through city spokeswoman Sarah Dell, and confirmed the involvement of a Central Falls cruiser in the March 21 crash that reportedly sent several parties to the hospital sometime after 11 p.m.

“Rhode Island State police responded to Higginson and Middle Street in Lincoln for a serious car crash involving a Central Falls Police cruiser. All parties were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The crash is currently under investigation," Roberson wrote.

Roberson did not say what a Central Falls police cruiser was doing in Lincoln.

Update, 03/24: Rhode Island State Police are investigating the crash and will issue a report, RISP Sgt. John Gardiner confirmed. The crash involved two vehicles, and three people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, he said.

The incident was first reported by Stillbox Fire Photos©️ on Twitter with an indication that at least three ambulances were called to the scene. Lincoln EMS Chief Sean Thompson did not immediately respond to a telephone call seeking comment.
