The Newport County Radio Club is set to offer a free amateur radio licensing course late April. The six-session course will prepare students for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Technician or General Class licensing exam in Middletown which will be offered on the seventh session.

The Technician level radio operator’s license is the first of three amateur licenses offered by the FCC. Each license has increased levels of operator privileges.

  • The Technician Class begins 6 PM on Tuesday, April 20th, runs six sessions and has a test on the seventh.
  • The General Class will begin at 6 PM on Friday, April 23rd, runs six sessions and has a test on the seventh.
