Up and down the trails of Newport's historic 30-acre Miantonomi Memorial Park, Troop 3 Newport scouts practiced their "hasty" search, map reading, clue interpretation, and radio communication skills during a 90-minute search for a simulated missing toddler.

With this exercise completed, several scouts are moving on to complete other elements of the Search & Rescue merit badge.

Troop 3 Newport was chartered in 1947 and has held regular outdoor activities during the pandemic.
