Ham Radio Enthusiasts To Hold Scituate Field Day

The public is invited to Chopmist Hill on Saturday and Sunday.

SCITUATE, RI — The Blackstone Valley Amateur Radio Club plans its annual field day this weekend, and members of the public are invited to attend.

Three stations will be set up where visitors can actually operate radios and contact other hams worldwide. The stations will be on the air continuously from 2 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday. Demonstrations include using satellites to make radio contacts.

It’s part of Amateur Radio Week and sponsored by the American Radio Relay League.

Interested parties should head to the Scituate Senior Center grounds at Chopmist Hill on Route 102 on Saturday and Sunday, June 26 and 27.
