Scituate RI Woman Dies Following New Bedford Motorcycle Crash

Krystal Gerardo, 24, was a passenger on the back of a motorcycle that struck a guardrail on June 6.

SCITUATE, RI — A Rhode Island woman involved in a June 6 motorcycle crash in New Bedford, Massachusetts has died of her injuries.

Krystal Gerardo, 24, of North Scituate died late Tuesday afternoon at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, the Bristol County District Attorney's Office announced.

On Sunday evening, Gerardo was a passenger on the back of a motorcycle being driven by a 28-year-old New Bedford man. The motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Acushnet Avenue when it struck a guardrail. No other vehicles were involved, the DA's office said.

The driver was taken to Rhode Island hospital and survived. The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police and the New Bedford Police Department.
