Carmen J. (Lora) Canto, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Friday February 19, 2016.

Carmen J. (Lora) Canto, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Friday February 19, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Joaquin A. Canto. Born in the Dominican Republic a daughter of the late Ana Lora.
Carmen was a garment maker and member of the Ladies Garment Workers Union.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters; Anna Canto-Rivera, Sandra Canto grandchildren Emelyn Canto, Felipe Moronta, Daniel Moronta, Darien Moronta, Ysatis Martinez, Ashley Martinez, Imani Motta and seven great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Charles Canto. Also survived by two sisters, Estela Erazo and Rose Marte. She was the sister of the late Anselma Torres, Pedro Lora, Germania Castro and Carlos Lora.
Her funeral is Tuesday February 23, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. from “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home 600 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Borromeo Church, Dexter Street, Providence. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION Monday 5-8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
