Laura's Pleasant View Diner In Smithfield Closes Its Doors
The restaurant served its last meals on Sunday, April 11.
SMITHFIELD, RI — Laura's Pleasant View Diner in Smithfield closed for good on Sunday, April 11, citing difficulties related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The diner, located at 132 Pleasant View Avenue, has been open for 10 years and is known for its American cuisine, including a full breakfast menu, soups and salads, burgers and sandwiches, and homestyle dinners.
"We want to start by thanking you for the last decade," said the restaurant in a Facebook post Tuesday. "You have been by our side through thick and thin and it means more to us than you will ever know."

"This last decade has had many ups and downs, but none more challenging than this last year," the restaurant continued. "In this last year, we have fought and clawed every step of the way."
Although the diner has closed, the owners'second restaurant, Laura's Bar and Grill, located several miles away at 945 Douglas Pike, will remain open for business.
