RI Tree Lightings: A Moveable Christmas Tree

Here is a list of upcoming tree lightings. We will add to the calendar, as we receive information.

PROVIDENCE, RI—In a small state, where it's possible to drive from one end to another in about an hour, the possibilities abound to binge on Christmas tree lightings. Here is a short list of ones we know about so far.

On Sunday, Narragansett and South Kingstown have tree lightings.

South Kingstown, 5 p.m., Tree Lighting at the Village Green

South Kingstown events on Sunday include holiday crafts and a movie inside the Neighborhood Guild. The Pottery Studio Holiday Open House is also Sunday, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The studio is in the Peace Dale office building, next door to the Village Green.

Narragansett, 5 p.m., Tree Lighting at Gazebo Park

On Sunday, Dec. 3, Narragansett holds the Festival of Lights. Events start in the morning at The Towers and include horse-drawn wagon rides (2 to 4 p.m.) and trolley rides (3 to 4:45 p.m). The Narragansett Community Center and the library are also celebrating. The Community Center has arts and crafts (and pizza) from 11:30 to 1:30. Then at 2, the Hampstead Stage Company presents 'A Christmas Carol' at the library.
