Pound Hill Road Closing For Week-Long Road Work
Part of Pound Hill Road will be closed from September 9 to 13 for road repairs.

SMITHFIELD, RI — Part of Pound Hill Road will be closed to traffic during the week of September 9 for road work. Traffic will be detoured along Routes 146 and 146A.
The closure is needed to repair damaged culverts, or open drainage tunnels, that carry Cherry Brook underneath the road using a small bridge. The new culverts will be installed a little to the west of Gilfillan Road, a part of the road that generally sees 3,000 vehicles per day.
While the road is closed, traffic will be detoured to Routes 146 and 146A, or Great Road. Local traffic will be allowed through the closure.
