Raimondo Makes It Official, Will Seek Second Term
Gov. Gina Raimondo sent out a tweet late Tuesday afternoon to say she is running for a second term.

SMITHFIELD, RI—Gov. Gina Raimondo has made her political plans official. She will seek a second term. The governor made the campaign announcement in a video on Twitter later Tuesday afternoon.
She will face a Democratic Primary before the general election. Former Secretary of State Matt Brown has announced he wants the job and will run as a Democrat. Spencer Dickinson, a former state representative, and Paul Roselli are also Democratic candidates.
Republicans Allan Fung, state Rep. Patricia Morgan, and former state Sen. Giovanni Feroce are also candidates. Former state Rep. Joe Trillo is running as an Independent.
