Smithfield Declares Snow Parking Ban

SMITHFIELD, RI — Due to the forecast of snow overnight Monday into Tuesday, Smithfield has declared a parking ban starting at 5 p.m. The ban is scheduled to expire at 5 p.m. unless weather and road conditions warrant otherwise.

Cars left on public roads during a parking ban are subjected to ticketing andtowing at the owner's expense. Forecasts for Rhode Island are for between one and three inches of snow starting around midnight and continuing throughout Tuesday. Snow may mix with rain and ice at times,
and is expected to be heaviest during the morning commute.
