Smithfield To Host Community Show Of Support For Pride Month

Community members will gather at the town hall on Thursday, June 17 at 6 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, RI — Pride Month supporters in Smithfield are set to gather at the town hall Thursday evening to applaud the town council's decision to display rainbow flags at municipal buildings.

Members of the Smithfield Anti-Hate Coalition and other community members will stand outside the town hall at 6 p.m. with positive signs, messages, and Pride flags to show their support.

The Smithfield Pride Community Show of Support is open to everyone who wishes to attend and is expected to end around 6:15 p.m.

The Smithfield Anti-Hate Coalition, founded in January 2021, is a group of residents working to combat racism, homophobia, hate and intolerance in the town.
