Smithfield Independence Day Celebration Postponed To July 9

The event will take place at Deerfield Park starting at 4 p.m.

SMITHFIELD, RI — The Town of Smithfield's Independence Day Celebration has peen postponed due to rain in the forecast for Friday, June 2.

The event will now take place on the scheduled rain date, Friday, July 9 at Deerfield Park, located at 39 Lisa Ann Circle.

Food trucks are scheduled to arrive at the park at 4 p.m. and entertainment will be provided by DJ Jim Gagnon at 4 p.m. and comedy magician Ed Popielarczyk at 5 p.m. The fireworks will begin at dark.

The celebration is family-friendly and open to the public. Guests are asked to not bring their own fireworks or pets.
