Smithfield Seeks New Firefighter Candidates

SMITHFIELD, RI — Smithfield is seeking candidates to establish an eligibility list for firefighter openings in town.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D, be at least 18 years old, possess a valid Operators License, old current license as an EMT in the State of Rhode Island and must be a

U.S. Citizen at time of appointment.

Applicants must present a current RI EMT Advanced / Cardiac or EMT-Paramedic license at time of appointment. Must provide a certificate from the RI Association of Fire Chief’s showing successful completion of the physical performance assessment. Only certificates issued in 2019 or April 2020 will be accepted.
