SMITHFIELD, RI — The Smithfield Town Council is seeking volunteers to serve on the new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force.
The task force was created in April to promote inclusivity in the town by embracing core values including civility, sustainability, diversity, partnership, and resiliency.
Volunteers who join the task force will engage with Smithfield residents, interest groups, and businesses, identify strategies to help the town become more inclusive, work with a consultant to develop a long-term comprehensive plan, and present recommendations to the Smithfield Town Council.
